Metal Birds

This was written for “Intro to Creative Writing,” a class where we practiced our own writing skills by creating short stories and studying writing theory. This story is about two pilots, their conflict in the air, and the distant lives of their families back home. This story was the starting ground for a grand-scale plot I’m still writing on today. The kind of writing that interests me the most is the one that this one encapsulates: historically grounded, but still fictional enough to have plot flexibility. This isn’t a true story, but it could very well be.
